McHenry County property tax bills are due soon, and values in Illinois continue to rise across the state, residents and business owners anxiously await their tax statements. McHenry County property tax bills were mailed on May 6, 2022. Bills can also be viewed and paid online by visiting the Treasurer’s Office website.
The McHenry County property tax bill first installment is due no later than June 6, 2022, to avoid penalties and interest.
Mailing Payments
As with most counties, cash payments are not accepted through the mail. Payments can, however, be made via check and mailed to P.O. Box 458, Crystal Lake, IL 60039.
In-Person Payments
Payments can be made, in person, via walk-in and drive-thru from 7:15am – 5:15pm, Monday-Friday at the Treasurer’s office: 2100 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock. Bills paid using a credit or debit card also include a $3.95 flat fee for Visa debit cards or a 2.35% convenience fee for all other electronic methods.
As of January 2022, BMO Harris banks are no longer processing tax bills for McHenry County.
Payments by Phone
Any resident/business owner remitting payment over the phone may call 877-690-3729 to use the IVR service. You will be asked for a jurisdiction code for McHenry County: 2301.
Individuals wishing to pay by eCheck will be charged a $1 fee. Those making payments using this method are encouraged to make a note of the confirmation code as that acts as the receipt.
Electronic Receipt
McHenry County provides the option to receive an electronic receipt after paying your property taxes. Visit the Treasurer’s site and click on “Email Notification Enrollment” to sign up.
