Santa Clara County property taxes are coming due, and the due date is a major topic of discussion for home and business owners. The Department of Tax and Collections in California had sent a reminder that taxpayers have until Monday, April 11, 2022, at 5 p.m. before bills officially become delinquent and incur a 10% penalty, plus a $20 cost to the unpaid balance.

Taxpayers who mail their payment prior to April 9 are advised to use one of the drop boxes located inside of the County government buildings: 70 West Hedding Street and 852 N. 1st Street in San Jose. Payments sent by certified mail must be received by April 11, 2022, or earlier to avoid penalties. Do you own commercial real estate? If so, our team can help you for next year.

Santa Clara County property taxes do have a lookup feature online, and it is available online at www.sccdtac.org. Individuals wishing to pay by eCheck will incur no fees using the website or the SCC DTAC mobile app. Those paying by debit or credit card will incur a convenience fee.
