State of Louisiana Suspends Taxation Deadlines Until Apr. 13
Louisiana tax deadlines are being suspended per an order made this week by the state. On March 16th, the Governor of Louisiana John Bel Edwards issued Proclamation Number JBE 2020-30 which includes the suspension of all “legal deadlines, including liberative prescription and peremptive periods applicable to legal proceedings in all courts, administrative agencies, and boards” which includes Title 47 of the Louisiana Revised statues which involves revenue and taxation.
This measure will apply to the Louisiana Board of Tax Appeals and the Louisiana Department of Revenue. We will be in contact with the local Louisiana parishes to monitor the impact on filings, extensions, and appeals and will keep you updated in the process.
